Jelena Barac is a 4th year student at Bard College Berlin. She comes from Bosnia-Herzegovina, has lived in Serbia, Holland, Germany and Brazil. She loves poetry, dance, lakes and junk food; she does not like sugar and absolutely hates caramel. She loves Virginia Woolf and Arundhati Roy; she loves reading suicide letters, her favorite is from Akutagawa Ryunosuke. A quote that sums up her approach to life (or what she would like it to be) is: “To spend our days betting on three-legged horses with beautiful names” — Bohumil Hrabal.
