Weihnachtsmärkte (Christmas markets) in Berlin bring a whole new dimension to celebrating Christmas. For around three weeks, these markets become the city’s social hub and a place of friendly gatherings, romantic first dates under the Christmas lights (or the mistletoe), or alternative dinner plans (read: French crêpes with marinated almonds and Glühwein). As they are coming to an end, one cannot avoid feeling a certain nostalgia for this time of the year already. To give you a glimpse of the city’s Christmas atmosphere (or the Weihnachtszeit) – and hold on to its spirit a bit longer – we bring you a short photo gallery of the ambiance captured at one of Berlin’s biggest Christmas markets at Kulturbrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg.
The blog team wishes you happy holidays and a spirited New Year!
